BMW M2 Competition

Model History

Released in 2018, the BMW M2 Competition had the difficult task of following up the widely enjoyed BMW M2. To do so, the M division set about fixing the very few negatives the previous car had, resulting in what to many is one of the best modern M cars, and perhaps one of the last!

Whilst the chassis and ESP had subtle tweaks to make the car much better on its feet, and better on the limit, the main change came under the bonnet. The engine was now a proper M derived twin turbo straight six, as used in the M3 and M4, producing over 400bhp. Inside, the car was given blue or orange stitched leather bucket seats, as well as carbon effect trim and lashings of alcantara. The exterior of the car had minor tweaks to the front bumper to cool the new motor, as well as “788 M” competition wheels.

BMW didn’t sell as many Manual M2 Competitions and finding them listed used in this condition is becoming increasingly difficult.

Background

For sale on behalf of a client, we have this beautiful 2019 model with just 9,000 miles on the odometer. Finished in Black Sapphire over “blue highlight” black Dakota leather, its in truly exemplary condition.

The car has been very well specified from new, and treated with the utmost care throughout its short life. The first owner now offers the car privately for sale after purchasing a Cayman GT4, and we are brokering this transaction on his behalf.

Exterior

As to be expected of a car this new and with such low mileage, the black paintwork is in stunning condition. The front end has no noticeable stone chips, there are no visible scratches or dents to speak of, and all 4 wheels are in remarkably clean condition.

This particular M2 has the “M2 Plus Pack” option. For the exterior, this includes “Icon” Adaptive LED headlights, sun protection glass, and the 19” 788 M wheels with Dark Finish. As well as this, the car has the folding exterior mirrors with anti-dazzle.

Interior

Inside, the black Dakota leather with “Blue Highlight” stitching is in an as-new condition. As is the steering wheel, gear shifter and handbrake lever.

The aforementioned “M2 Plus Pack” includes the following for the interior: heated front seats, and Harmon/kardon loudspeaker system.

Further to this, options included on the interior are: Apple Car play, high beam assist, reverse assist camera, and speed limit display.

Mechanical

The high specification of this car continues with the options of the M Drivers Package and M Sport performance brakes.

All four Michelin tyres have many miles left in them, as do the brake discs and pads.

As with any M Division car, this model has had its all-important run-in service on time at BMW. The display shows its next service is due in 11,000 or October 21 (Whichever comes first).

Summary

To summarise, this an extremely desirable specification of M2 Competition which we know will not hang around.  There are very few of these cars for sale with a Manual transmission, and none of which can boast this cars options list or low mileage.

With the M2 Competition already being hailed as an “end of an era” car for BMW, this could be your last opportunity to buy one with such a high specification and condition.
